![]() ![]() Laptop was bought with Win 8.1 alredy on it 7 years ago. Absolutely any help would mean a world to me. So as act of desperation I turn for help to this community. I completely runned out of ideas as I followed countless tutorials and none of them worked. ![]() So what I can already deduct I have to install Win10 in other way than with Media Creation Tool, which I tried to do even with Linux's terminal. But I still couldnt install even the Win8.1 on it, which frustrated the shit out of me. So in a bit desperation act i pluged my HDD to my Laptop via USB cable, (I converted HDD to external drive btw.), and it reconised Windows already on there. But after completing a configuration process, it told me that I can't do it with this tool, and told me that I had to boot to windows to upgrade as it was recognising that some form of windows was alredy installed! I want to repeat that I have I completely new empty SSD! Even after formatting! I tried to do it coulpe more times, but I got exact same resoult. I installed a Media Creation Tool on my USB drive with a computer with Win10 and good enough my laptop recognised it as a bootable device. It didn't work my laptop didn't recognise a USB as a bootable drive. But when I tried to flashed it it told me that this is not a bootalbe image, but I tried to flashed it anyway. Next, run the program and choose Upgrade this PC now if you want to update to the latest Windows 10 build. Even Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 users can also download this tool for upgrading to Windows 10. I downloaded BalenaEtcher and just flashed a USB drive with it. First off, click on this link to download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. So I went to microsofts webside and curiously enough I couldn't download a media creation tool, but it downloaded a ISO image which I considered unsusal but not a problem. ![]() So after swapping HDD (with Win 8.1 on it) to a completely new SSD I istalled Pop!_OS which I really liked, but unfortunetely as a person with very little time to tweak around with it, I've decided to install Win10. I also decided to upgrade my drive to SSD to speed it up a bit. ![]() So after using Windows 8.1 I've decided to try Linux (Pop!_OS) as I heard many good thing about it. So lately I had a bit confuzing problem with my Asus R510V laptop. ![]()
